Bilingual Back-end/DevOps Engineer

• Bilingual: English and Spanish (spoken and written) to communicate effectively with our team.
• Experience building or operating reliable services (e.g., API development, backend architecture, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement).
• Interest in long-term collaboration and consistent contribution over time.

What you’ll do

• Attend client and team meetings and confidently discuss DevOps, backend engineering, and infrastructure topics
• Demonstrate your technical knowledge through discussions around system design, architecture, deployment, scalability, and production systems
• Understand client requirements and help translate them into clear technical direction
• Act as a communication bridge between clients and developers
• Make sure requirements, technical decisions, progress, and issues are communicated clearly between both sides
• Participate in technical planning and solution discussions
• Help keep projects moving smoothly by coordinating with the development team and resolving communication gaps

We are TerraSpanWorks, a digital construction & civil and software consulting startup. We build software that helps teams plan, manage, and deliver engineering work with better visibility, automation, and reliability. In this part-time long-term collaboration, we’re looking for a backend-focused professional who can also contribute to DevOps practices and, when needed, AI/ML-related integration. You’ll work closely with an international team to design and deliver backend features, support system reliability, and help streamline deployment and operations across the stack.
